From July 7 to October 10, 2024, in the South Hall of Varna Archaeological Museum, the visitors will be able to enjoy an interesting exhibition.
Pravets Museum of History presents a one-of-a-kind collection of gifts given to the Bulgarian state and head of state Todor Zhivkov from guests and government delegations from all over the world. The period covers the 1960s and 1970s, as well as the preparation and celebration of the 1300th anniversary of the Bulgarian state in the 1980s. The collection includes paintings, souvenirs, statuettes, masks, works of art and folk crafts, models of famous cultural values, copies of antique objects of peoples from all over the world. These works are made of crystal, ivory, porcelain, iron, copper, silver, gilding, wood, leather, inlaid with precious stones, objects bearing the marks of the national and cultural identity of each nation.
The objects are not only works of art, but also a reflection of the morals of the era, a testimony to the broad diplomatic, economic and cultural relations of Bulgaria with the rest of the world.
Gifts as an act of diplomatic and interstate relations reflect cooperation based on mutual interest, friendship and respect of national and cultural traditions.
